Form F24 is the standard form for paying Italian taxes and contributions. Instead of making a separate payment to each body, you list every amount on one form and pay the final balance once. The form is divided into sections for State taxes, social security contributions, regional taxes, municipal property tax and other local taxes, and other social security and insurance bodies.
Use it to pay income tax, VAT, social security contributions, local taxes and other amounts collected through this system. You can also use tax credits you already hold to reduce the amount due. This is called offsetting: the credit is listed on the form and the final balance cannot be negative.
Your tax code and personal or company details. For each line you need the section, the tax code that identifies the payment, the reference period or year, and the amount owed or offset. If you pay on behalf of someone else, the form also asks for the other person's tax code and an identifying code.
How you can pay depends on your situation. Holders of a VAT number must pay electronically. Other taxpayers with a positive balance and no offsetting can also pay on paper at a bank, post office or collection agent. Forms that use offsetting or have a zero balance are submitted through the Italian Revenue Agency's online channels. Deadlines depend on the tax being paid.
