Form MR04, Statement of satisfaction in full or in part of a charge, tells Companies House that a debt secured by a charge over a company's assets has been paid or satisfied. Filing it updates the public register so that a repaid charge no longer appears as outstanding.
It depends on when the charge was created. For a charge created before 6 April 2013, complete Part A and Part C, giving the creation date, charge number, a description of the instrument and short particulars of the property charged. For a charge created on or after 6 April 2013, complete Part B and Part C, giving the charge code printed on the certificate of registration.
Part C is completed for every charge. You confirm whether the debt has been satisfied in full or in part, give the name and address of the person delivering the statement and their interest in the charge, such as chargor or chargee, and sign the form.
The form is provided free of charge by Companies House. It cannot be used for a charge against a limited liability partnership, which needs Form LL MR04. All information on the form appears on the public record, and Companies House says some forms can also be filed online.
