How to translate a PDF

Last updated: by Zendocs Support Team

Copy-pasting a document into a translator loses the layout. Translate PDF works on the file itself: you upload a PDF, review the translated pages, and download a PDF back.

How to translate a PDF

Open Translate PDF.

  1. Upload your document (up to 40 MB).
  2. Preview the translated pages and check the result.
  3. Download the translated PDF, or share it by email or link.
  4. Review names, numbers, and domain-specific terms against the original.

Preview before you download

Preview the translated pages before downloading. Translations of dense or technical documents deserve a review pass: check names, numbers, and domain-specific terms against the original.

Scanned documents

If your PDF is a scan, the text is stored as an image. Run it through Scan to Text.

Protected files and after translating

Remove password restrictions with Unlock PDF for files you are authorized to open, then retry. Small fixes can also be made with Edit PDF.
