Understanding subscriptions and recurring charges on Zendocs

Last updated: by Zendocs Support Team

If a recurring charge from Zendocs appears on your statement and you are unsure why it was billed, this article explains how subscriptions are authorized at sign-up, how the trial converts to paid pricing, and what you can do next. The goal is to help you connect the charge on your bank statement with the plan terms you accepted in the product.

Subscription billing on Zendocs is governed by our Terms & Conditions. When you created your account, we showed both the $1 trial price and the subscription rate that applies after the trial, and we asked for your explicit acknowledgment before checkout continued. That acknowledgment is the authorization for the trial charge and for later renewals unless you cancel in time.

Under Section 4.1 of our Terms & Conditions, every subscription starts with a 7-day trial for $1 and then converts to your selected subscription rate when the trial ends. After you signed up, we sent a welcome email that included:

  • A summary of your subscription terms
  • Details about upcoming charges
  • How long the trial lasts
  • The post-trial subscription rate you selected
  • Clear cancellation instructions

Section 4.4 of our Terms & Conditions:

  • Subscriptions renew automatically until you cancel
  • Cancel before the renewal date to avoid the next charge
  • You can cancel at any time through the self-service cancellation portal

By signing up for zendocs, you also agreed to our Terms & Conditions (Section 3), including authorization for automatic payments on renewal. Section 4.3 explains that we process payments through PCI-DSS compliant providers and that billing runs on each renewal date while the subscription remains active.

For a simple view of pricing, Section 4.2 lists the standard plans and Section 4.1 describes the trial-to-paid transition:

  • Days 1–7: $1 total for the trial period
  • From day 8: your selected subscription rate applies on each renewal

You can cancel during the trial so the standard rate never begins, or cancel later to stop future renewals. Cancellation stops upcoming charges; it does not by itself reverse a charge that has already processed.

If a charge looks unexpected

Start by matching the charge date with your trial end or renewal date, then check the welcome and billing emails sent to your account address. If you no longer want the subscription, cancel through the portal as soon as possible. If you believe a charge was made in error after cancellation, or you need a billing review, email support with your account email and the transaction details.
